Maason Smith: 5-star DT actually brought Georgia's chances back to life
Maason Smith is the nation's No. 3 DT prospect out of Louisiana. It will be a very tough pull to pry him away from home state LSU. What might give DawgNation a better shot here than most pundits might think?

Never stated in this article is the fact that he wants to play with Korey Foreman and do not think Foreman is liking LSU. May be a Georgia vs Alabama competition before it's all said and done
Stop getting our hopes up, Jeff!
When in a darkened room, you look for a glimmer of light..that is Maason Smith for 2021 commit. Nearly all believe he is LSU-bound. Let's hope that glimmer opens up and shines down on UGA.
Glad to see Maason Smith decided to reach out to Georgia. Sounds like he has a plan and is going to cover all the bases.
Athens is a special college town, the more times he visits the better our chances get. Hope he commits to the G!
Maybe not this year......maybe not next year...but if things continue on their current trend.....Southern black players will start drifting away from the SEC......
It's hard to pull a top player out of LA, the constant pressure from all sides to go to LSU is tough to overcome. Yes it happens, but it's a tough pull.
Wow......Maason looks light years better in red and black vs those LSU colors. Amazing difference. Go Dawgs and Go Maason.
Heard yesterday that BAMA got a kid out of Hampton Ga. just south of Atlanta I believe who will start as a Freshman DE. According to many long time BAMA guys like BA and JS they say he looks better or as good as anyone BAMA has ever had on defense as a Fr. How did we let this kid get out of Georgia?
It would be great to sign Smith, but don't hold your breath on the chances of it happening. LSU keeps the recruits they want, where as UGA has everyone else taking our best recruits year after year.
Good article Jeff, sounds like Maason is dotting his i's and crossing his t's, smart young man. I think if he visits The Classic City a couple more times it might even the odds.
