I was very disappointed that we didn't get started with UVA as scheduled but now that looks like it might be a blessing. With all the talent in Athens, I'm still optimistic regardless of who's at QB.

Treat the Arkansas game as the spring game, and let Mathis play QB. The defense should be able to hold Arkansas in check. It takes real time in a real game to get the timing in sync with the QB and his receivers.

Classic Pollack play and classy guy. True DGD. I was crushed when he was injured, but am pleased to see him doing well as an announcer.

In terms of QB, I have to admit that I hadn't given Mathis enough credit until I watched his plays from the Spring Game the other year. Sure, it was twos, but it was quality playing. Combined with a year of being on campus, there is no reason to not be excited about Mathis starting should that happen. Both he and JT are very impressive. Aaron Murray was definitely talking him up as well and man, that guy has legs and can really book it.

I'll be glad when the season starts. Tired of rehashing this same QB question every day. Talk about beat a dead horse...

I'm sort of with you @zonadawg61. Let's just play. I will say however, that I was wrong about Mathis. I had said that he would not return from his brain cyst, that he would be retained on medical scholarship, but never play. Now, we're not getting the full story, but it seems like he may actually be the best QB on the team now. If so, let's just say he's the starter and let him and his teammates start working on the oft-repeated "team chemistry." And yes, experience is definitely important but we need only to look back at Jake Fromm in 2017 to know that a lack of experience is not necessarily a fatal flaw. Or we can even look at JT Daniels freshman year at USC. He started for one of the highest profile programs in the country, so I say, let the best man play. Who knows, that may be Carson Beck before we're all said and done.

@DallasDawg I would bet we'll see at the very least Mathis and Daniels if he's cleared in the first game. I wouldn't rule out Beck either if UGA has a commanding 4th quarter lead. Time to play!
