Just go ahead and ink OS into the play-offs. If they fall, it will be whoever's the next B1G team in line.
8 games vs. 10 games, it won't matter. The only thing keeping the B1G champion out is 2 or more loses. Too many people want to put the B1G in.
And, I won't be surprised if they still get in even with 2 loses.
If the 8 game Big Ten is given the same playoff consideration as conferences who play a ten game season, it will be incontrovertible evidence that the CFP playoff criteria is the subjective farce many believe it to be. It will make a mockery of the playoff, and the hard work and sacrifice the other conferences made to make it possible for a playoff.
Folks - Not defending the B1G, BUT it is not an 8-game season for them, it is an 8+1 season as ALL teams will play 9 games with NO open dates.
If Ohio State runs the table undefeated and wins 9 games including the Championship then yes, they do probably deserve to be in the conversation...like it or not.
Let's just see if all the conferences ACTUALLY start and finish their seasons as scheduled. Until then, you're putting the cart before the horse. The playoff committee should do the right thing and take into consideration # of games played AND strength of schedule as always.
GO DAWGS!
