imageGeorgia football injury update: One key offensive piece returns, another questionable for Tennessee

ATHENS — The Georgia offense could get a pick-me-up against Tennessee with graduate transfer tight end Tre’ McKitty expected to make his debut for the Bulldogs. Coach Kirby Smart said he’s hopeful the 6-foot-5, 245-pound McKitty will play. McKitty had an arthroscopic procedure performed on his knee after injuring it

Really hope McKitty can get on the field this week. I would love to see him in action. A huge target for whoever’s under center and great leadership is never a bad thing. GATA! Go Dawgs!

Yes! So glad Tre is coming back- he is the perfect 3rd down weapon for Stetson. He knows what to do on his route based off what the defense is lined up in, so in essence he will always be open on a 3rd and short when needed. Plus going with our jumbo 2 TE sets with Tre and darnell will make the running game better AND Give us the ability to go play action and hit one of those 2 big ass TE targets down the field, but mainly in the redzone, inside the 5 yd line- faking the handoff to White and throwing it to a wide open Tre or throw it up to darnell high and let him go get it for the TD. Man it's gonna be fun watching these talented boys.

    GO DAWGS!

McKitty will be another HUGE target for the QB, whether that be Bennett, Mathis or Daniels.

TE Tre' is a huge boost to UGA...Tre' has been anticipated so now we get to see him in action. Little Stetson will have no problem finding Tre' the Tree. My concern is his knee. Smart admitted he wouldn't use him unless he had to against Auburn....the knee. TN it appears now will be tougher than Ark. or Auburn. That is SEC football. You give it your all...knee or not. Tre' is quick for a big guy. Good moves. Throw it his way he'll get under it. Good route runner. It will be interesting to see what transpires between Stetson and Tre'. GO DAWGS!!!

First time I've heard about Darnell Washington's poor conditioning. That's a shame. This guy is a freak at 6'7", 260 lbs. When he gets acclimated to the Offense he will be hard to defend.

DW needs to be in shape by the Cocktail Party for sure, what an opportunity it would be for he and Tre' to go head to head with Pitts. I think by that time the secondary should be lights out good and quell the Trask/Pitts threat to some degree.

I hope McKitty is as advertised. Every year we have these seemingly "can't miss" tight ends and they barely make an impact. I still don't get why people are so infatuated with them. There is only one ball on the field at a time, so I don't know why people are so interested in the TE catching it as opposed to the wide receivers or running backs. As long as they have on a Georgia uniform, I don't care who's making receptions.

As for injuries, I wish these updates would come from Ron Courson himself. CKS is always shaving things. McKitty was injured the second week of pre-season practice in August and according to Kirby, it was "nothing serious." Now two months later, we're "hoping" he canfinally play. James Cook was supposedly OK to come back in the game the second half and now, after NOT coming back in the game, he's suddenly "day-to-day."How the heck did his shoulder get worse??? And I still don't think they have full confidence in the health and strength of J.T. Daniels' knee, but they have him cleared as a last resort just in case things go real bad with Bennett and/or Mathis.

It's my belief that Kirby always underplays injuries, I guess in an attempt to keep teams off balance. But it worries me because you just never know. I said all last year that D'Andre Swift was hurt, well before the Tech game. He just never flashed that burst of speed like he did as a freshman and sophomore. Turns out he was hurt. So I just wish Courson would give the injury updates and give it to us straight. Of course that will NEVER happen. Go Dawgs!

As good as our D has been , I still think that the Ringo injury is major. We need another lockdown agent back there, I did not appreciate seeing that Schwartz #1 kid running free a few times. He got behind DJ Daniels a few times. Chris Smith did admirable replacing Count Richard but that was with game in firm control. Especially with Nick Satan seemingly cloning WRs over there, we need that cleaned up by the time the CFP rolls around.

Next on the wish list is at least a glance at the capabilities of one JT Daniels and maybe even a few series of Carson Beck. As much as I am rooting for the Mathis kid, I think you can stick a fork in him as a UGA QB, he is well done, but hopefully finds success beyond the transfer portal.

The mailman just needs to keep delivering.....Go Dogs!!!
