Georgia has played five games. That's at the halfway point of the scheduled 10-game season for all SEC schools in 2020. Seems like an optimal time for the DawgNation Cover 4 crew to hand out some midterm grades.

The "B" grade is fair to team that has excelled on defense (A-) and special teams (B+) but has been average (C-) on offense. Unfortunately, there's no way they are going to reach their goal of a NC with an average to below average offense in today's college football. This team's offense has held them back the past three years since they lost the ability to consistently produce explosive plays in the run game after Chubb and Michele left.

UGA has scored 14 points in the last SIX quarters of football. Enough said. And Kirby, who has no equal in recruiting (though close vis-a-vis AL and Clemson), is proving his limits as a head coach. The QB situation is a disaster and that's totally on him, from the makeup of the room to the handling (or not handling) of the position. Maybe it would be better if KS was not an ex-dawg, so he wouldn't have what appears to be a coach-crush on a scrappy guy who gives his all for UGA. Kirby's head is in a place where he's not seeing clearly, and that's as far as I can go in polite company.

I think a "B" is a fair assessment. And that just won't cut it if you want to win the SEC, much less the NC. Why doesn't Kirby see this? I know I'm just a fan, not a coach, but everywhere I read the same comments over and over, including from national media outlets. They all say that Bennett is not the answer AND that Kirby is holding the offense back with his conservative play calling. He needs to let Monken have complete control over the Offense. It appears that Kirby is the only person who does not see it this way. Stubborn all the way to the Citrus bowl, if we're lucky.

Definitely a B only because the offense has struggled and failed to come up with big explosive plays and take advantage of playmakers as much as possible. We are restricted with Bennett on what we can do. Our 3rd down efficiency and Red Zone offense is in the middle of the pack and worse in the SEC rankings thus far.

I would grade them out at a "B". We are still not at the same level as Alabama, OSU, & Clemson. In my opinion, it's because we lack elite QB play (love Stetson Bennett - he's a gamer, just not an elite signal caller). Where are the 6'4, 6'5, 225 QBs on our roster that read defenses and can run? We have had great QBs on campus during Kirby's short tenure, but it seems that we are either not managing or developing them to the best extent possible. Alas, I recognize that it is easier said than done.

Yep, 'B' is a valid grade given our massive talent. Solid wins, but offensive production can't give us an A especially given the 2 high profile transfers at QB... none of them that has thrown a pass.
