Anyone remembering the teams of the 1980's, remember the likes of Buck Belue, John Lastinger, etc. They were far from great quaterbacks. Their jobs were to manage the game and feed the skill players in whatever manner possible. With UGA being RBU, that was, primarily, handing the ball off, or pitching it. There were occasional throws to keep a defense honest. But, if UGA threw the ball more than 15 times, it usually meant they were going to lose the game. It is Monkin's job to utilize Bennett to feed the skill players. UGA might not be good enough to steadily feed the backs with a few passes to keep defenses honest, nor are most modern defenses susceptible to being totally dominated by a bruising ground game, without a significant amount of passing mixed in. The idea of the air raid offense is dead, for this year. It requires a JT Daniel or Mathis type qb. But they, apparently, aren't ready to run something like that. I believe the UGA offense will settle into an overall scheme similar to 2017, relying more and more on the ground game. I don't believe this type of offense can win a natty. Next year, with different qb, dawg offense can open up, more.

“The challenge is where are we with Stetson Bennett and the balance of this offense? They could run the ball, but against Florida, they’re going to need to be able to stay up with Kyle Trask,” Herbstreit said.

Been saying this all along. Trask has tremendous confidence now since Mizzou blowout. Bennett has the opposite in my opinion Five interceptions...that will hurt anyone's "mojo." So what is it that brings Bennett back into play? The only answer will have to be played out on the field in J'Ville tomorrow. The game tempo will be fast and furious. The FL aerial bombs will light up the sky. It is a given. UGA must stop Trask...period. Sack him...run him out of bounds...frustrate him. There is no other scenario I can muster. LeCounte is down for the count. Big factor. So they will go after his replacement. Our defensive backs will be chasing FL's WRs all afternoon. UGA will have to run the ball and RPO the short game. Use Cook. Mix it up between Kearis and Pickens. Zeus and Kendall should have a stellar day as Bennett spreads the defense. No turnovers, Dawgs!! No more interceptions, Bennett. UGA, try to control game tempo. Grind it out. Use ball control. Wish you the best...go gettem!!!

I really hope to see our offense step up; I'm ready to see the explosiveness we've been hearing about become reality.

If Stetson plays the game of his life and Jordan Davis is 100%, we have a CHANCE at victory. I have no delusions of grandeur like some Dawgs fans. I love my fellow Dawgs and I HATE to lose to Florida but I am realistic and not blinded by the reality of tomorrow.

If UGA were to somehow beat those lousy Gators Saturday:

    1. That would be one of the most satisfying victories of the modern era for me.
    2. CKS and company will have had the best coached game of their lives. We have a160 pound, 5' nothing former walk-on under center and no back-up QB AND half our defense is injured AND Florida's offense is legit! Don't be deceived and avoid the disappointment Saturday. If you are convinced we will win...my advice to you is to drink heavily before the game!
