LOVED this crazy SOB. No need to repeat the motorcycle story, legendary as it was, but as a straight-up football player, the irony is that he was as fundamentally sound as any player in the history of the game. Something Jake did, which ALL punt/kick returners could learn from: without fail, his first move was STRAIGHT AHEAD, UP FIELD!

Then, if he saw a move to make, a cut, he'd make it and be gone. He literally NEVER ran wide first. The "dancers" in the return game could gain a lot watching this guy at work.

A delightful fool off the field, he was a 'dialed-in' surgeon on the field.

Jake Scott rode his motorcycle over the Georgia coliseum that my Granddaddy helped build. First of Georgia’s 3 Super Bowl MVPs. RIP Jake!! May God bless your family.

Jake played his last 3 seasons with the Washington Redskins and would probably be pissed that you used the PC name of Washington Football Team! Go DAWGS and Hail to the Redskins!
