    He

How did Newman go 10-11 on third down. He hasn’t played this year.

“We had the same game plan that we really had with the other quarterbacks,” Smart said.

If only those other quarterbacks could make the throws!

I guess Stet and Dwan make them all the time in practice, right Kirb?

Thanks for the feedback, Fitzpatrick, it really helps when the passes are CAUGHT too, right?

Jesus, Kirby sounds dumber and dumber every time he speaks. Pretty soon him and marble mouth Pruitt will be indistinguishable.

Can’t cks just give credit where it’s do .. after the first couple drives he settled down and balled out .. nothing more to say .. worry bout the defense .. our running game will be there now that the defense has to back up off the line of scrimmage.. they were not afraid of getting beat do they played the run .. pretty sure we will be more balanced now that they have to play straight up ..

How bout coaching these guys up! Why can't you get more out of these guys. No way on the green earth BAMA lines up and plays a team and gets 10 yards rushing and their RB's get hit behind the line of scrimmage 70% of the time like ours do. SHAMEFUL!

They wouldn't do that against the best rush dense in the nation. But hey, maybe we'll get another top3 recruiting trophy again in 2021 Yipee!! At some point you just have to shake your head and wonder what's going on? Defense was supposed to be lights out and the O-line isn't any better under Luke.

The problem with our defense is the heart of our defense is out due to an atv accident.

mark Webb is like a lost puppy in coverage.. those who don’t believe me rewatch the state game.

    2 more things

    1) Nolan smith has been invisible of late. He hurt?

    2) dear Jordan Davis, please come back next yr. you are our defensive line. We got pushed around like a shopping cart last game.

    Go dawg!

I'm guessing Kirby is trying to stay neutral and not put all the attention on JTD so the other guys don't get jealous or negative towards JTD's fame. The TE saying what he did confirms that the rest of the team wants attention too. Need to be a little political here to keep the troops jacked up.

IF you haven't seen the post game interview with JT I highly recommend watching it. A guy who is very articulate, intelligent and knows how to talk ball. He never smiles, but is very humble and gives a lot of credit to the team and coaches for what he helped accomplish. A delight to listen to rather than the usual coach speak.

A reporter said something like you don't really expect to throw for 400 yards a game, do you? He didn't flinch, basically said (paraphrasing) but that's the plan, to be as productive as you can be. I like that.

    Contrast (A) and (B):

    (A) “We had the same game plan that we really had with the other quarterbacks,” Smart said.

    (B) JT Daniels had the highest QB rating IN THE NATION on Saturday.

The fact that JT did that with the "same game plan" should tell him something. In other words, the point he thinks he's making is not the point he's making.

And he spends the rest of the time covering his rear with "qualifiers," about how much JT has to learn and improve. If he improves much, he might become the greatest QB in the Cosmos (assuming they play football on Mars).

Can the guy (Kirby) just calm down and be straight with people? Ever?

It's like he has this "image" that he has to play to, like an actor. It's like he's playing the role of HEAD COACH instead of just looking people in the eye and telling the truth (something we tend to look for in some parts of the country). He's not fooling anybody. The games are played on the field - not in practice - and there are a lot of knowledgeable people on this forum - along with the occasional knucklehead.

As we say, respect is "earned" and not given. The plaque on your office door doesn't mean a **** thing; it's what's behind the door that counts.

Sorry folks, for doubling up, but just one more thought.

Alabama is now an offensive juggernaut, great. So, who believes Alabama would have ended up w/8 yards rushing against MSU, even w/a loaded box? Just a question.

It's all good, Dawg-Pounders. Just thinking that KS might be going through a transition: Assistant to Head Coach. There is a reason Saban is 22-0 against former assistants. The skills are not the same.

But Kirby's a Dawg all day long. So he gets a very long leash. Which I totally support. Just hurry up, dude! And stop trying to "out-scheme" everybody. Just play football.

BTW, loved JT's comment about when he got comfortable. After the first dumb throw and getting hit. "Okay, it's football." Yep. X's and O's and beating the dude across from you. Kirby plays a linebacker in a 3-front, wow, how clever. Give me a break. If the other team is ripping you up, might you want to toss out the clever and get down to the physical?

Just an illustration, back to Alabama (our measuring stick, which we should welcome -- gotta take down the champ to be the champ). Which do you rate the most intimidating: (A) Kirby jumping up and down on the sidelines and screaming like a (fill in), or (B) Saban ripping off his headset and staring down a referee?

Hey, maybe Nick just can't jump these days. And anybody who buys that needs to NOT buy a lotto ticket.

    Go Dawgs!

This was not Kirby Smart football. This was not Kirby Smart's first choice for QB. This was not Kirby Smart's win.
