Hope y'all have a great day! Does anyone else miss the old Thanksgiving Day freshmen/JV game with Georgia Tech?
Interesting you mention this , of course back in the day the freshman team was separate from the varsity , freshman were not physically mature to play with a degree of safety with upperclassmen, the theory being they were afforded a year in strength and conditioning training before being hit by the big guys. Makes me wonder about injuries we have had to freshmen, Blaylock, Milton , A Smith, White ...to name a few , maybe there is no correlation today , but the fact still exists that a 18 yo young man is not yet the man he will be at 20/21
I hadn't really thought about the "why." I just assumed it was a rite of passage in a time players committed to a school for four years.
