Vanderbilt announces kicker Sarah Fuller will travel for game against Georgia football
It looks like Sarah Fuller will be teeing it up between the Sanford Stadium hedges on Saturday for the Vanderbilt Commodores. Fuller became the first female player to play in a Power 5 game when she made her debut for Vanderbilt last week against Missouri. Fuller didn't have a chance to kick a field goal for

If she can kick the ball 30 yards each time, I'm glad she is coming to town. But what happens when the kickoff is returned and she gets blocked on the return?
I know how this will probably come across, but I just don't understand why this is being treated as some important milestone. Again, I don't want people to read any more into this than exactly what I say. I'm not saying there aren't women who could probably compete on an SEC football team. I just don't see why making football co-ed is a necessary step toward a more enlightened society. If women want to play football that's great! Why not start a women's team, as would be done in any other sport. I mean, that's how it's always been done - there's a men's team and a women's team. And it's been working just fine. Has it not? Is it offensive that that's usually how it's done? Is that an antiquated outlook on the subject. I'm asking sincerely. I never would have thought so, but with the "it's about time" tone that's being struck on this story, maybe that's how the world is starting to see it. Maybe I'll catch up eventually, but right now I just don't get it.
Political correctness run amuck. If she were a guy that kicked like that, she wouldn't be on the roster. A pooch kick? Come on man, that was the best she can do. Kick a kick off out of the end zone or make a 45 yard field goal and I'll support it. Until then it's just theatre.
And if there's a team with women who prove themselves valuable players, I'm fine with that. Just want to be clear there. My comment is more in reference to the public reaction. Did the whole concept of having men's and women's leagues become passe at some point and I just didn't notice?
If our D messes up and let’s them into scoring position, they have to block the kick into 2021
I'm hangin' back on this one. Men's and women's teams. That's it. I think being blocked is the least of Sarah's worries.
Stunt and I don't mean D line stunt.
Political correctness for everyone! Salute!
I watched the video, and was sure hoping she didn't have to try to make a tackle or block anyone. That could of gone bad. But I could see players not trying to block her or be accused of being too brutal on a woman, no win situation for the opposing players. Just a really **** political idea.
Can y'all imagine if somehow, someway, with 2 seconds left on the clock, Vandy attempts to beat us with a 55 yarder, and she kicks it for 70. Lawd have mercy! Wouldn't that be a b***h! 🤣🤣
Bless her heart, though. I'm not going to be hatin' on her. I wish her nothing but the best, just not against us! 😁
GO DAWGS!
BLOW THE 'DORES OFF VANDY!
So we can't say an idea was S-T-U=p-I=d talk about censorship.
I wish her the best too, but her kicking it 70 yards is about as likely as Georgia winning the natty this year. Wait, it is 2020, but seriously, seeing her warm up before the Mizzou game by kicking not very impressively from the 4-yard line... I was not surprised she was told to squib kick it in the second half.
Kirbys in on it now. I wasn’t aware that young girls everywhere hoped and dreamed of playing football. Funny, I personally have never heard one girl mention that. Guess I haven’t been talking to the right girls.
I just hope the SEC network doesn’t forget there is a football game being played rather than spending their time focusing on a girl standing on the sideline who may or may not get on the field.
That said, should Vandy score against the third teamer’s, it will be interesting to see her kick the PAT. If she should make it, she may be given the Heisman if trotting out and executing a “perfect” squib kick merits SEC special team player of the week.
Kearis Jackson was stopped by the kicker to prevent us from scoring a TD on the 10 against SC last week. I cannot envision Ms. Fuller saving a TD on a similar play. I have a daughter and love seeing her compete. I wish nothing but the best for Ms. Fuller but girls have no business playing D1 football, at any position.
