Justin Fields was indeed "mismanaged" but it wasn't by Kirby Smart or anybody at UGA.
Fields was mismanaged by the NCAA, when they broke their own transfer rules, by teaming up with Ohio State to poach Fields.
Ohio St had just lost Urban Meyer in yet another scandal, and to make matters worse, Meyer had under-recruited the QB position, leaving OS with no real option at the position. What would the B1G be without a top 5 Ohio St?
The NCAA stepped in and collaborated with OS to fix their QB problem.
Otherwise, Justin Fields would still be at UGA.
