I guess this is good so we can get all our new early enrollees, but not sure I get it.

Okay, now we're getting down to the "what?" level. Fine. Some want to find their "top" and others say, "good enough, I want the dough."

Collegiate athletics today, glorified farm teams. Same thing in pro sports. "Oh, it's a five-year contract? So what? I want a new one, or else."

College version: "Thanks for taking a chance on me as an x-star and allowing me to develop, while getting a coveted college education, room and board, tuition, medical care, and all the rest. Oh, and "Bye Bye." Now that I'm at the point when that contract is the most valuable from your side, I've decided I donna wanna do that, so too bad."

Sound harsh? Characterize it how you wish. But that's what it has become. There is NO loyalty to, you know, "finish the drill!"

There are exceptions and THOSE are the real DGDs in our world. Love them.

    The others? Not so much.

As for Mark Webb, good luck. Would help if you figured out how to turn your head and FIND THE **** BALL, but hey, maybe you'll pick that up in the NFL, on the kickoff coverage unit.

I wish nothing but the best for Mr. Webb. Best of luck to you in your life after college.

This is yet again a very perplexing decision. I do not believe Webb will be drafted. His film is simply not NFL caliber and his 40 speed is less than desireable.

Looks like we will be starting at least one DB against Clemson that has zero D1 game experience. It will at least be fun to watch these young pups develop in the fire. Right?????! The upside-we will have the best secondary in college football in three years. The downside-our lack of experience at this position may again cost us a Natty in 2021 ala 2017. A dear friend of mine used to say when she was smacked in the face with disappointment...(I will honor her by saying).... "Yeah well, you know." C' est La Vie.

Come on Depp, you're smarter than that. Players use the collegiate farm teams to show their wares, the schools use the athletes to make their riches. The loyalties we remember and long for are gone along with the Country and culture that bred those qualities. Change is hard to accept, but won't stop. Those who stubbornly cling to the past are left behind and often embrace bitterness in lieu of acceptance. There was a day when I wouldn't miss an NFL game, I haven't watched one in three years. I get a lot done on Sundays these days. Are Saturdays far behind? The game we love is gone, it's merely a shadow of 1980, those were the days. Dooley's Dogs, Larry Munson, Woerner roasting a prize pig. No one can take the memories. Cherish them but move on, the bitterness only hurts oneself.....

Webb may get a free agent contract for a year, what's he going to do after that. JD, he is taking a risk but what a reward he will get. Another year with his brothers, and hopefully millions of dollars as a first round pick. Those are the guys I cheer and pray for. Some people know how to be happy. I'm working to be one of those....

Another poor draft decision by a UGA player. Not sure why this keeps happening. Someone is not being honest with these kids.

    Best of luck to Webb!

Lots of low class fans here. Wish a guy well and that should be it. If you're butt hurt over a college player going pro, then you have a self esteem problem. These guys work in college to make money after college. Were any of us any different? They owe us fans not ONE THING. Grow up! Sad that I even have to say this.

Thanks for your time in Athens, Mr. Webb. Wishing you the very best of luck in the NFL. Now go represent the G in the pros!

Ummm... he’s playing in the Senior Bowl. Doesn’t that mean he’s a Senior? Why should he feel obligated to stay beyond that?

I thank him for his years in Black/Red, wish him the best of luck in the Senior Bowl and hopefully an NFL future or wherever life takes him!

Always be a DGD in my book.

Best wishes to Mark, I think we made a mistake moving him from WR to Db. He has played well at Db, but given our struggles at that position prior to this year it would've been nice to see what he could've done there.

As a Dawg fan I appreciate the contributions of every kid who has gone through the program. Many you hate to see go just as you don't want your kids to leave home (well maybe it is time for some of them to leave home when you start drawing your social security). One of the great things is there are new kids waiting for their chance to please us. I can't wait to see the contributions of our new stars in the making. Thanks for your time Mark. We have enjoyed watching you grow. Continue making us proud as you show the rest of the country what a Dawg is made of.

Best of luck Mark Webb. I thank you for all you have done for UGA and wish you nothing but the best in the future. Go Dawgs!

Wow, I’m amazed at the knuckleheads who feel like Mark is leaving early and betraying our team. He played a little in 2017 before redshirting and then played full time in 2018, 2019 and 2020. He’s actually a senior, but classified as a redshirt Junior. Thus the reason he will play in the Senior Bowl. Good luck Mark and thanks for being a DGD. Go Dawgs!!!

I'm a little surprised by this. But I wish him nothing but great things.

I've always wondered how he would of done if he stayed at WR. When he was converted it was at a time where we had a plethora of WR's and it was thought he could contribute at DB more.. But the years after we were completely depleted at WR and I always expected an announcement of him moving back. But it never happened and I was always mildly surprised. Guess both Mark and the coaches thought his future was at DB.

Side note, how many remember that he is 1st cousins with D'andre Smith?

Hope you got your degree and wish you the very bet life has to offer. Maybe you'll get drafted.
