ATHENS — Georgia football could be on the brink of officially hiring Will Muschamp into an analyst or advisor role now that the former South Carolina head coach has received buyout money. Muschamp has been spotted around the Bulldogs’ program as far back as the team’s Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl practices, and as recently

You know you have done something right when you get fired and then are paid 13 million by the same party!

My money says he will end-up at UGA and serve in some capacity.

    Go Dawgs!

Man, I just don't know about having Muschamp around. I know his son is there, and he probably would like to be around him more, I just worry him and Kirby would be at each other's throats when things aren't going well. Both are fiery guys, I can see them butting heads. Then again, I really don't know how close they are, and hiring Muschamp could actually be a blessing!

    GO DAWGS!

Normally, I'm not a big fan of when Friends hire Friends, I think it's kinda a neat situation for a guy born in Georgia (didn't really grow up there though) and went to Georgia and coached in several Georgia colleges.

    Lets be clear, though:

    1) Keep your MOUTH SHUT. Kirby represents us: you do not. You better not make us look bad as a school.

    2) Your son is not in the Top set of QBs so don't expect him to play a single down unless every other one (we have 7 QBs on our team) gets equal playing time.

Look forward to seeing how this plays out.

Don't make us regret it though.

I like it and would rather have him working for the Dawgs than against us. He’s a mediocre head coach, but a great defensive coach so we should even get better on that side of the ball. Also, if one of our outstanding defensive coordinators decides to leave for a head coaching position we can just slide Muschamp into that slot and never miss a beat. My gut feeling is he is ready to settle down. He’s a multi millionaire (almost $20,000,000 in buyouts from SC and FL) and is back in Athens at his alma mater. Go Dawgs and Go Will!!!

Muschamp will likely be a short time deal between him and UGA. It helps Muschamp by keeping him in the game.

He will likely be in an analyst role for one year, and then find another job. Hiring your best friend can be tricky, but I think it will be beneficial for both Muschamp and UGA.

This is not a layover. He'll be here as an analyst then DC insurance if/when Lanning moves on. This is a massive plus for the defensive unit. He will be integral in a quick transition to the new secondary and will keep them at a championship level.

Friends? Do you eat your friends hedges?

Would this be considered a new franchise of the Nick Saban Rehabilitation Program the "Eastside" or could this be a new Kirby Smart program?

I really want to support Muschamp because he is a former player for us but the negative comments towards UGA while he was employed by the lizards down south and tearing into our hedges keep popping up in my memory. I hope he helps us while he is here so I'll swallow my bile and support him.

Good move to go after Muschamp - many more pros than cons. Will has that fire in his heart because he does not need the money. Let the by-gones be by gones.
