I know very little about him, but the fact that he's jumped from LSU to Florida to now available is a warning sign. Maybe he can give you a quality year before he's back in the Portal. I certainly wouldn't sacrifice quality commits if it came to securing him however.

A great talent but could be detrimental to team harmony? Is he good enough to take that chance?

I think you gave too much credit to one player.

Nothing shouts “RUN” to a defense more than a two TE set. When those two TEs are as athletic as Washington and Gilbert, what’s a defense to do? Keep there coverage defense on the field and create mismatches on the line of scrimmage for a whole stable of talented RBs or sub for the run defenders and try to cover those two with LBs. Imagine UFs offense last year with two Kyle Pitts! I’m just fine with Gilbert becoming a Dawg if that’s what he chooses!

Everyone on this site talks about young guys making mistakes. Here is an elite talent that felt close to his family and wanted to leave LA. He looks at what FLA has and what Pitts had done in Dan "The Clown" Mullen's scheme. He has not enrolled but is checking things out and found it is not a fit. Could be academics, chemistry, or could be distance, only he knows.

Let's see what happens, if he enrolls at UGA, then we have a great talent!
