Well he's no Pickens. Of course not, who said he was? But for a newbie he was impressive. I was pleased over all by the lack of drops by receivers or very few. Honestly can't remember a receiver dropping a pass he should of caught. I did see some open receivers who were missed that could have been big plays.

Why is it a foregone conclusion that we will be in the portal for a DB? Do we just not recruit them, which seems like a horrible plan considering Smart admits that teams will be "slinging"? I would think that a really good corner or two would be more important than a fifth 4 or 5 start quarterback on the roster. I like throwing and impressive long passes but more than I like that, I absolutely hate watching us get burned for a long pass or caught flat footed on a short pass that turns to a long play.

Yes the Dawgs under Kirby do recruit corner backs, but several decided to transfer and 4 are going pro, so the corner back position still needs help. Hopefully they will find one or two using the transfer portal. UGA does not need another QB right now, but they do need DB's.

Perhaps the Dawgs can trade a couple qb prospects for a top notch DB? Haha!
