The inmates are running the asylum. This is political correctness run amok. Players deciding on whether to play in bowl games. The bowls produce a lot of revenue for the football programs to pay for their scholarships, training table, housing, etc. Traditionally, bowls are rewards for the teams for a good season. They should be able to find a way to incorporate several of the existing bowls into the playoffs while maintaining the lesser bowls for lower ranked teams to still have a prime time game at the end of the season. What would Thanksgiving to New Years be without them? Lord knows ESPN will want the programming - Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night games every week.

Once again, Notre Dame will get some kind of special playoff consideration that no other team gets. It's past time to tell ND to join a conference or hope for an at large bid.

Great news! Other than a handful of bowl games, the entire 30+ game bowl season has become a joke. Mediocre (at best) teams getting bowl bids, players opting out (who can blame them), and lousy matchups that few watch.

Let's hope the expanded playoffs come sooner rather than later...

If for no other reason, the players and the revenue they could make if they play in a bowl game. Their images in a New Years top six bowl could possibly bring the players hundreds if not thousands of dollars. The IL that is soon to kick off in 2021 will help some kids to become rich before they ever play in the NFL. The penalty that cost Todd Gurley a possible shot a the Heisman Trophy is about to be long gone.
