An article about Boling missing the Olympics was sure to have a gratuitous mention of obscure apparel brand, Onward Reserve. The majority of Mike’s articles the past month mention Onward Reserve. Is someone else being compensated?
What a shame, the goal of a lifetime gone in .04 of a second. Will he train for another four years? We'll see ...
I have watched Matt Boling since HS. His start seems to be a major problem...he does not have the top speed to catch up and pass many of these very fast Olympic trial sprinters in the 100 meters. He comes close...yes! In the 200, again, he comes from behind and does pretty well catching up but is not capable of running in the 19s as yet....at least none of his times have shown me... to be a front runner. All three 200 Olympic qualifiers ran in the 19s, including a 17 yr old HS student phenom. I have hope for Matthew as he is still in his early 20s. The Dawgs did great overall.
100 meter record holders are born, but 200 meter champions are usually a mix of natural ability and deterination to get better. Matthew's best shot at Olympic glory was always going to be in 2024.
