Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

ATHENS — Football scheduling is not a perfect science, and Georgia has certainly had its share of recent examples.

There is a precedent for Tennessee to host another SEC opponent for it's homecoming game. In 2013 they hosted Auburn, and got shellacked by a 55-23 score. IF the Dawgs expect to play for the National Championship they have to beat them, whether it's at homecoming or just another game. I expect Tennessee to be greatly improved from last season, but on paper it should be a Dawg victory, please don't have a headline printed, the Vol's upset the Dawgs.
Better to lose to a top-5 Georgia on Homecoming than to lose to 1 and done Kiffin?
After posting in the Gold thread about the new tandem at hockey top "saving" that program, Imma double down and say they will exceed all expectations this year. And, I hope this post doesn't age well. Lol
UT will be our last regular season SEC game so we will either be highly motivated to win the game to clinch the East or we screwed-up and the game will not be important. Hopefully it will be for all the marbles. Go Dawgs!!!
I love bulletin board material. Bring it on!! Go Dawgs!!
Tennessee fans are a sad, miserable, and angry bunch
Think about it. In your heart, you know that the odds of beating Georgia are low. The week before is Kentucky. You think you might a shot here, but do you really want to give added incentive by making it your home-coming game? If you look at October, they have Missouri, South Carolina, Ole Miss and Bama. Same reasoning here for the first three. So you choose your poison. Pick Bama or Georgia, knowing that you are likely getting hung with a loss. Which one do you think you stand a better chance of not being blown out by? This year, I think they chose the wrong one.
We'll never feel at home in that sea of ügly orange, but we can still have a very good time, and give them something to talk about for a long time.
They're wondering if they'll get a single first down.
Happy, er, unhappy homecoming, Vols.Go, Dawgs!
I think the most likely scenario is that we will have already clinched.
First of all, other than a few students, 95% of the people that will be there won't care about homecoming one way or the other. The team won't care unless there is controversy about the selection of the Homecoming Queen (see UGA Homecoming 1994). Who cares if it is Tennessee's Homecoming?
BTW, Vanderbilt schedules for Homecoming almost every time that we go up there in October. If you haven't been to a Vandy Homecoming, you are REALLY missing a show LOL!
