I guess I can understand why the sec would want to expand, I just don't care for it. Not at all. I like the way it is. Also, if they do join the SEC, I hope they don't move the SEC championship game from Atlanta.

    GO DAWGS!

Of all the contributors on Dawg Nation Brandon Adams is my least favorite. Brandon's verbal format requires more time to deliver than the written format of the other contributors, and for that reason I seldom listen to him.

To chilidawg, it’s a podcast, so it has to be verbal. It’s about the only podcast I listen to. Fun to listen to while walking or doing chores.

BA, my thoughts on SEC expansion. The smaller schools should vote no. If money is the end all, be all in college athletics, particularly football, then it’s only a matter of time till the SEC starts shedding teams. ESPN is not paying a billion dollars for Vanderbilt football…or Miss State, or Kentucky, or Arkansas. And a billion dollars (or more) goes a lot further between 10 or 12 teams than 16.

Wont happen? Not right away, but there’s two scenarios I see. First, the big boys leave. Possible, but unlikely, but wait till the ACC’s deal comes up in about ten years. The SEC poaches Clemson, FSU, maybe Miami and another. Suddenly the SEC is 18-20 teams. Per SEC rules, membership can be involuntarily terminated with a 2/3rds vote! By 2035, the SEC may be composed of possibly 1/3 new members added after 2010 and 1/3 big time legacy programs. They alone would be enough to thin the SEC here. If Vandy or KY or Miss State are smart, they’ll vote against this seismic realignment for their own preservation.
