The big 12 is finished. ESPN refused to open negotiations with them earlier this year, now we know why. I strongly suspect that ESPN was the broker between Texas, Oklahoma and the SEC and that activity probably started at the end of last season or soon after. That's the only reasonable explanation for the refusal. The remaining members of the big 12 certainly cannot feel secure with the current leadership of the conference and what established executive or young rising star wants to have their name(s) tied to a conference about to implode. For those and other reasons, I think we're about to hear of a lot more changes involving more conferences than the two involved in this matter. Just my opinion.

There will absolutely be a 12 team playoff. Why? Because Sankey will make it happen even if it means cherry picking some more teams and adding them to the SEC.

The addition of TX and OK is most likely not the end of changes that will happen to the SEC and other conference alignments by the time 2025 rolls around. This isn't over. Good or bad...change is the only constant, and I am more than ready for an expanded playoff.

    Carnak says:

    Erase all the geographic borders.

Notre Dame and Clemson TV viewership will come next.

SEC will overrule NCAA, maybe dominate NFL, eventually.

They will outlaw transgender men in women sports to start with.

SEC will be 3-4 subregions in the end.

SEC will own Saturday TV, maybe Saturday and Sunday lineups to maximize revenue - killing NFL and its woke crap.
