Why would you not start Beck? Stetson will be leaving after this year. If your looking for long term success (which is Beck and Vandergriff) I would want Beck to start and embrace the challenge. If things aren’t going smoothly, then roll Stetson in. Gotta give your players a chance to succeed is all I’m saying. I can see this going badly and Beck potentially leaving to a better program.

I agree 100%. Stetson has shown the ability to come in and steady the team when he needed at Arkansas last year. The circumstances were identical, new qb, first collegiate action, didn’t go good and Stetson stepped in. Anything other than this approach is willfully negligence by Kirby Smart and puts the experience of our quarterback room overall at risk due to a high likelihood Beck transfers. Even worse, what if he’s decides he’s transferring and then goest to the extreme to opt out. Leaving us with Stetson as our solid QB2….. then Georgia wasted yet another elite defense if we have any further injuries to JT. Kirby need not be **** this afternoon.

EDIT: Well, this is moot now. Still think we should have shown Beck some faith, but of course I haven't seen practices.

We should be able able to run run the ball well enough today that we could start anyone. Start Beck if JT can't go, let him hand off a few and then work in easy passes if we're worried about his decision making. If he has faced our D in practice, then UAB should not be a problem for him.
