ATHENS — UAB coach Bill Clark said his staff was watching along with the Georgia fanbase last week trying to figure out who Kirby Smart would turn to at starter on Saturday.

"UAB, it’s worth noting, shut out Jacksonville State team in Week One 31-0, and that same Jacksonville State team beat Florida State in Tallahassee on Saturday night, 20-17."
We kept hearing the talking heads say UAB was a good team leading up to the game. After Jacksonville State beat Florida State in Tallahassee, it looks like the experts may have been right. Puts this dominating win by the Dawgs in perspective.
I noted that too and looked at the stats of those games. UAB annihilated JS statistically and it was played on JS’s home field. JS then beat FSU in Tallahassee and the stats were very similar. I think UAB is a pretty good team, but we overwhelmed them early. Go Dawgs!!!
I like Bennett. He is shifty and a tad off beat...confuses the defenses... UAB coach admitted it. He does tend to sail the longer balls at times. But it is like target shooting with him. I will say, Bennett could take UGA all the way to the SEC East title if they let him. They won't but he could. The younger players need reps in games to mature and find that elusive rhythm. And, JT will be back. Arkansas will be a tough one for UGA. If JT bogs.....Bennett will see UGA through. Beck and Brock are improving....raw but showing sparks of great potential. They need reps. Then there is Gunner Stockton in 2022. What a QB room at UGA!!!!
Holy cow...not taking anything away from Jacksonville State but FSU might need to give up on football.
