Georgia football winners and losers following 56-7 win over UAB
Georgia football picked up a 56-7 win over UAB on Saturday, improving to 2-0 on the season.

I can't understand the way some treated Stetson Bennett?
Stetson has the most experience of any QB on the roster, and he's a good player. The other option - Beck had never throw a pass in a college game.
Who do you think should start?
Brock Bowers is a freshman sensation! Amazing speed and already runs great routs.
People who booed the mailman doesn't know to much about football. During the COVID season, Stetson played good football. The two games we lost, he had the Dawgs in the led. The defense was not playing to the standards. If the defense was on their game, maybe Georgia win them both. Don't hate on Stetson because he was not given the media praise of being a top recruit. If you guys notice, it has been the lower ranking recruit who shines.
I find it fascinating the coaches know more regarding the abilities of our players than we do. How do they know? 😉 Those who booed are absolute jerks and clearly don’t have a clue and are hideous fans. Go Dawgs and congratulations coaches on your great decisions.
I was upset like others about Bennett starting and I still believe it was the incorrect choice but I would never boo him. That's not a very classy thing to do. I guess those people are the same ones that yell constantly at the refs.
No one has been more of a DGD than Stetson Bennett.
No one has been further from attaining DGD status than those who disrespected and/or booed him.
The anti-Stetson crowd arrogantly displays their ignorance about football. They are, unlike Stetson, clueless and classless. They know nothing about what's best for Georgia football, but assume they are smarter and better informed than Kirby & Company. They aren't mentally fit enough or physically strong enough to carry the jockstraps of either Kirby Smart or Stetson Bennett.
Go, Dawgs!
Some people simply amaze me. Would they rather see the offense struggle for 4-Quarter's just to get next years 'maybe' QB a few extra reps?
You would think Beck hadn't been given any game time and is not getting developed.
1st game was Clemson: No opportunity to get another QB any reps.
2nd game, first opportunity to get 2nd QB game reps. Beck get's around half the plays available, and he get's eased into the role.
Meanwhile, today's first QB off the bench get's the other half of the plays, which could pay off big time if Daniels goes out in a close game against a ranked opponent.
Isn't that the best possible way to manage the hear and now as well as developing for next season.
It's one thing to say before the game Beck should start, CKS called him the #2, I get that. To say that it was the wrong choice in hindsight, I don't get it, kid was obviously not ready to lead this team.
We got the win, Carson got to play, and we can all evaluate what the near future looks like anyway, and it doesn't include Beck starting anytime soon, barring an injury., but he will still get to play some. Hopefully we'll get to see BEck and Brock compete for scrap time.
Come on some of you Dawg fans! It’s a long season with a lot of big games to play in front of a national audience. Either learn some class or stay home, get drunk in your recliner and pass out by the third quarter. Oh, and give your tickets to some fan with class! Go Dawgs!
Today was the perfect example of why CKS gets paid the big bucks to make hard (and sometimes unpopular) decisions while the rest of us sit at home / in the stands and watch. Bennett starting was the move needed with Beck coming in periodically to get his feet wet. This is why I will put my faith in CKS' game plans and not in dawgfan1234@yahoo.com. GO DAWGS!
I understand CKS wants UGA to look explosive on O for the media and for future recruits. There is no doubt SBIV outplayed CB15. He had the game of his life. But if you want CB15 to progress and be ready for bigger games this year and next he needs to be on the field. Growing pains against UAB wouldn't have mattered. If SBIV starts next year UGA will lose CB and BV to transfer. One of them has to start next year so they need to be prepared this year.
Hard to say anything bad about the first 2 games but at times our OL couldn't block a parked car (except for pass protection which is awesome) Once this is settled there should be no glaring weakness.
As a Dawg fan and simply as a human being, I cannot understand why anyone would boo any UGA player. I especially cannot fathom booing Stetson. Is it because he is not the prototype passing qb that is so much in fashion these days? Is it because he is not over 6 feet tall? Is it because we lost 2 games that he started (one of which we were leading 14-0 when he was injured and unable to return)? Whatever the reason, I have zero respect for anyone who boo any UGA player.
I was not happy with the decision to start Bennett, not because of his abilities but because of the constant talk about how Beck was number 2. My feeling is, how do you justify that to a kid who knows next year he will be in the fight of his life with the guy on the scout team. No one threw their first pass in a game till they threw their first pass in a game. I felt it did him a disservice, although admittedly, I have no idea what is said in practices.
I would never, EVER boo one of our Dawgs. I have been unhappy in the past but I have never booed my team, much less an individual player. I think Bennett puts in the work and is a valuable asset to the team and the University but I do believe that if Beck started he would have had through the roof numbers. Seriously, Bowers was wide open on a short route where Bennett lobbed the pass, which needed to be lobbed, but I do believe Beck would have settled and lit it up. As for Beck's interception, it was a perfect throw but the receiver wasn't looking. Don't know who to blame but by that same token, was he maybe overplaying and forcing things to show he deserved to be in? I don't know.
What I do know is I am unhappy with our running game. I question the constant rotating of backs, meaning no one gets into a rhythm. I know we have a bunch but I'd like to see one establish himself.
