It's hard to get through a season without your starting QB missing games. I'm glad Bennett decided to stay, because he may prove to be the difference before the season and beyond is over.

Bennett looks much more locked in when he's the starter. Always seems to start fast and is effective.

You have to acknowledge the game plan the coaching staff came up with to defeat Arkansas. It was very similar to the one Bama used against Old Miss who was running a similar defense. It makes it difficult to pass against but easy to run against. So that Bennett did not have a great day passing was not unexpected.

What seems to difficult to get a handle on is how many times did the quarterback check to a different play.

Bad plan by Ark. 2nd string QB starting and Ark says, "we're gonna stack against the pass and go light in the box and we dare to you to beat us with the run". Huh? That is the dumbest plan ever. Not that it mattered. Not what I would've done. Okay, so it seems like UGA is a better team than last year (as long as health is maintained). And it is safe to say that SBIV is a better player this year based on the additional experience and training he has. AND that UGA had FL on the ropes last year (w/o JDavis, Lacounte and MRice) until SBIV and MRosemy-J got hurt on the same play (TD). So do you try to make a run with SBIV as QB1? May not have a choice.

I bet there are a lot of teams out there that would kill to have a backup QB as locked in and as effective running the offense as Stetson is. Are we better with JT? I would think so.

But we sure could be a lot worse off!

And remember, we still have our running backs, our”gelling “ offensive line, our tight ends, our wide receivers , our defense , our specialty teams and our coaches.

    Feels good, doesn’t it!?

    Go Dawgs!

Generally the QB is only as good as the line protecting him....UGA's OL protected Bennett better than I have seen recently, involving a good defensive front line determined to crush him. This was a total team effort by UGA. They were dialed in. Ark, had no chance. Totally out played and out manned. As Pittman said "we got whupped."

I like Stetson Bennett. Great character, good man. I just don’t see being elite is with him being the qb of an elite team. This happens to UGA every freakin year that something happens to where we do not go over the top. One year the offense is elite, defense is subpar, the next defense is elite, offense is subpar. It’s exhausting.

Stetson seems to play better when he starts a game (or half) versus coming off the bench in relief during a half. Not sure why that is, but both of his INT's this year were when he came in cold off the bench. JTD still has the greatest upside in his play but I sure am glad we have Stetson.

Without Stetson Bennett we'd be in Big Trouble.

    Go, Dawgs!
