Georgia’s 2021 campaign has reached the point where the Dawgs no longer are judged on the same basis as mere mortals. Thus, a 43-6 beatdown of Missouri can be rated a B-plus performance, with room for improvement.

Bill, as always you're the best.

I so much look forward to your take on our games and the state of our program.

We were pretty unsuccessful running the ball. Because we were so successful in the passing game, our running game efforts could be looked at as practice opportunities. In my view, our run blocking could improve. Going against an all sold out against the run stacked box is quite the challenge.

To a degree, yesterday was a scrimmage.

Thanks for your balanced and thoughtful and accurate reporting.

    Go, Dawgs!

    Bill,

You (certainly if we go all the way) have a ready made history of this year all Bulldog fans have been craving for in your impeccable summaries of each game. Get your publisher lined up. I will be in line to get an autographed copy when available!

@BillKing Thank you for a thoughtful and fair analysis of the game and the Dawgs performance! Kudos to you, sir. 😎

So tired of ‘quarterback controversy’ narrative that often dominates the articles on this site. 😑 In contrast, your commentary is a breath of fresh air! 👍

It’s hard for me to believe Kirby Smart is totally committed to being elite when he starts Stetson Bennett over a supposedly healthy JT Daniels

One of the commentators on TV was saying this is almost like a audition of long passes for SBIV. I'm not sure that's true, but if it is, I certainly don't think he passed the test. I really would not describe that 35-yd TD to Smith as "perfect". Smith was at least 5 yards away from the defender when the pass was thrown, but by the time the pass got to Smith, the defender was almost able to make a play on it. Also, the first pass to Burton was also severely under thrown, again, like most of his long passes. The miraculous catch by Bowers was not accurate at all and could have been an INT. Still, I do think SBIV is a good alternative since JTD is prone to injuries, but obviously severely limited by his arm. Anything more than 35 yards is probably beyond his limit.

BTW, JTD looked very rusty also, and that's why we need to get him into the games more. There is a small chance that SBIV is enough to take us to the NC if we have a more potent running game. But with our subpar running game, it is more than likely, we would need JTD at the top of his game to win a NC for us.

I really love Bill's posts... they do such a better job of balancing a positive tone with relatively unemotional assessments of need-to-improve areas. Essentially "no drama" articles that are a pleasure to read. His assessment of the QB playing without dropping down into "controversy" narrative is refreshing, and meets exactly what I felt I saw (and thought) on Saturday :)

DAWGSFORLIFE1988 You might need to contact Loran Smith and tell him the title of his book is wrong.

Great read as usual Bill. Thanks. Who would have ever thought that a Georgia Bulldog team would throw passes to 9 different receivers in one game? WOW. How times have changed...

    GO DAWGS!!
