Georgia football linebacker Nakobe Dean was named a finalist for the Butkus Award.

Nakobe deserves to win the Butkus. Stats are good but Dean is a leader extraordinaire as well.
Channing going high in the draft, too! Impressive closing speed.
I'm glad our guys are being recognized for their play but in a way, I wish they were all being snubbed for these awards. That would likely serve as additional incentive and motivation for them. But, as Kirby used to say, "just keep the main thing, the main thing." The rest will take care of itself. Go Dawgs!

Just suggesting a true measure for all these players and all our VERY firmly-held (even if biased) opinions:
The Player's bank account ONE year after they leave. Assuming their g'daddy didn't leave them a gold mine. Talking only about being paid TO PLAY FOOTBALL.
What does the NFL do? They draft and pay the best players (not always right but they spend a H of a lot on evaluation and a H of a lot on guarantees and salary).
If that's the measure, where do we think players on the UGA roster will end up? Now, THAT would be a very cool stream and even maybe a great comment show w/our 4 fave UGA commentators.
Don't even have my own answers lined up so I know it would be cool.
Not only is UGA the best team, it's the best looking team. All these guys are rock stars across the board.
