This young athlete will be phenomenal on the edge. Cannot wait to see him perform in the red and black.
ANy young man who dyes his hair red for UGA has got my full attention! Welcome to the family Darris!!
Wow! What a player and what an article. That said, might want to edit the line “Smith would love over at his coach every 30 minutes or so”… 😳
Cant wait to see this guy on the field as a Dawg!
Darris appears to be underrated by the folks that determine how many stars a kid gets. Remember Thomas Davis was also from a small school in South Georgia with basically zero stars. With his speed and size, Darris may be a great Dawg. And that red hair thing says a lot about his love for UGA. Sic ‘em Darris.
It would be the craziest thing if he could be an ironman athlete at UGA.
I can't wait to see him play.
He is not the first SEC signing from Appling County. Lanier Goethe signed with Ole Miss in 1999 and played linebacker for three seasons before getting injured his senior season. He went on to be a college position coach at multiple schools, including being hired by his former coach David Cutcliffe at Duke. I’m amazed the Appling County Coach hasn’t been told that yet.
