“…we didn’t attack the press the way we practiced….” “…we made the FUNDAMENTAL mistake of picking the ball up in the half-court.”
Broken record, the coach pointing out, after the fact, the fundamental mistakes his team made, as if the players are coaching themselves and he’s a color commentator. They’re twenty-six games in and it’s always something, and usually something fundamental. When does the coach bear some responsibility for his team’s failure to do things he seems to suggest are simply a matter of “them” not doing what he clearly told them to do? UGA M B-Ball is now beyond embarrassing. The ONE thing you can do, even if you can’t be taller, faster, or a better shooter, is the fundamentals, and that’s coaching, all day long.
I agree DeppDogg. He should admit that the team is just not good. The record shows that they are a bad SEC team. They want make any tournament again this year, unless they create a tournament to find out who is the worst team in NCAA basketball.
Go get Jerry Stackhouse. He has assembled better talent at Vandy than Crean has.
Different day...same story.
We need a new foundation. Crean is pulling in transfers from smaller schools. UGA needs to be recruiting top prospects. If we built a basketball team off of Georgia recruits, we should be close to a top 25 team. Heck, if you took some of the football guys and played 5v5 against the bball team, the football guys might even win.
