The College Football Playoff committee announced it would not be expanding during its current contract.

This is all about the upcoming move of UTx and OU to the SEC. They are still mad. Don't forget they aSked for teh expansion study, and were on board to approve it when the moves were announced. We've suffered and benefited from having two SEC teams in the playoff.
Obviously the fans and schools would like to see the expansion. Once again the people lose to the politicians....
UGA has been nipping at AL's heels for 5 years now. Keep recruiting at an elite level and you have the 2 best football programs in the country. Take your chances. Saban won't coach forever. The SEC passes the eye test. In the last 4(?) years 2 teams that failed to win the SECC have won the NC. 12 team playoff is too many. Against any format that allows the top 4 teams to have a bye in the 1st game. UGA and AL beat up on #2 MI and #4 Cinn pretty badly. Imagine what they'd do to #11 and #12. 8 is plenty. It is all about TV money.
12 teams is just too much and maybe if they would be more reasonable and make it an 8 team playoff, more colleges would buy into the idea. Conference champions and 3 at large is plenty.
Having it at 4 instead of 8 or 12 or whatever ridiculous volume people are calling for makes it more exclusive. Thus, every team's chance of making the playoff is lower. This isn't about Georgia. Nice try, Connor.
Just so I have this straight…. does this column count as “meaningless discourse”?
Dang, Connor!
You automatically assume we can't beat Bama or the likes in the SEC West?!?!?
Not a good look or title, unless you did it for click bait.
No worries, as long as the dawgs win their games, they will be there every year.
Florida and Tennessee want it to expand to 64 teams. That way, they might have a chance to make it.
This is no longer the bridesmaid program. We're defending National Champions. 4 team, 8 team, 12 team, whatever it is we'll be there.
