Georgia football coach Kirby Smart opens up on CFP Championship Game: ‘really personal’
ATHENS — Kirby Smart is constantly churning forward in his quest for football championships, so the seventh-year Georgia head coach doesn’t often take time to reflect.

Proofreading is so hard and time consuming. Ain’t nobody got time fo dat! 🤣
It is a careful balance Kirby has to strike between being excited about last year’s championship, but keeping his program focused to win another. 😇
Sorry...I don't get what either one of you are saying. The pic...the caption...???
The name of our stadium is wrong. 😬
Since winning the natty, I have read a lot of revisionist history about the health of the program Kirby inherited. Yes, the 2015 team was 9 and 3 losing all three games to the only good teams on the schedule. But, what I remember most about that team is they eked out a win against Georgia Southern and came off the field like they had just won the national championship.
In 2016, Kirby’s best choice at QB was a freshman who had not taken one snap from under center his entire high school career and went from playing what would amount to A classification in Georgia to being the savior of the program against SEC defenses. That’s not a knock on Eason. It was the hand he was dealt in a grossly undermanned QB room. That same year Kirby was forced to bring in a guard grad transfer from Division II Rhode Island to play left tackle.
I know many want to shine the brightest light possible on Coach Richt which is fine and well, but be real and give Kirby his due. It is 100% Coach Smart that has built this championship program!
By the way, kudos (finally) to the AJC for fixing the refresh problem!
Well, Stanford does have a football stadium, but it’s in California. 🤷♂️
