Brooks needs to back up this hire with the type of facilities and support that has helped Kirby make the football program so successful. Otherwise we might be looking at the next Tubby Smith to use success in Athens as a springboard to greener pastures.
I love the whole contender idea but I'd personally take "not laughing stock".
All I can say, Mike, is, I wish you well. You have quite a hill to climb. Go Dawgs!!!

IDK if he'd take the job, but White should hire Jonas Hayes as an assistant and let him spearhead recruiting. That would get even more folks on his side. I honestly didn't think we'd get somebody this good: he knows the conference, he's a proven winner, and he recruits well. Fingers crossed!

It's really not about facilities. It's about the Coach and his Staff. Calipari, Pearl, or Barnes would not have a problem getting elite kids if they were Dawgs. From what I have heard, Cameron Indoor Stadium is a dump but Coach K never has a problem getting elite talent from all around the country. What more can be done to our facilities? Maybe improve the locker room in Stegeman? The practice facility is very good, which is where the players spend more time than actually in Stegeman, right? I am all for upgrading the facilities but more importantly, if Mike White is the right guy, we can win big.
