Congratulations to Jonas. Based on what he did at Xavier, if he continues the success at Georgia State, he may very well end up in Athens in short order.

I was thinking the same thing. Not quite ready for prime time based on his experience level but may be the guy that succeeds Mike White if he doesn't work out.

Congrats to Jonas. It’s possible Georgia State made a better hire than UGA. Time will tell.

I missed this headline... couldn't agree more JBMDawg46. Very happy for Jonas and excited to see how his tenure at State goes. I hope he does very well. Heck, now I'm suddenly interested in college basketball again, as the guy many Dawgs fans were hoping would return home will possibly be facing and certainly recruiting against his alma mater. Ordinarily, even though I went there for 2 years before transferring to UGA, I could barely care less about Ga. State hoops or any sports. Now? This will be fun to watch!

Why do so many people ASSUME that Jonas Hayes would automatically come coach at UGA if Mike White doesn't work out? If he does well at Georgia State, other schools with bigger and better basketball traditions may come after him and after being snubbed by UGA now, he may decide he owes UGA nothing. And quite frankly, I wouldn't blame him.
