George Pickens: Pittsburgh Steelers select Georgia football wide receiver in 2022 NFL Draft
ATHENS — The Pittsburgh Steelers believe George Pickens can be quite a catch for their franchise, choosing the Georgia receiver with the No. 54 overall pick in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft on Friday night.

Stealers got a steal
@MikeGriffith
"Pickens was at his best at Georgia playing with prototypical pocket passers in spread attacks, whether it was Fromm in 2019 or JT Daniels in 2020."
Mike, since Pickens was basically unavailable during the 2021 season, I decided to put your claim to the test, by going back and reviewing 2020. Bennett played the 1st half of the season and Daniels the 2nd half. I threw out the GA vs FLA and GA vs UK game, as Pickens was out for both and Bennett was injured in the latter.
What I found was interesting. Both QBs seemed to have favorites to throw to and it had nothing to do with QB style.
In the games Bennett was QB, Kearis Jackson and James Cook, lit up the board. Pickens had some success, but, nothing like Jackson...whom, I might add, is coming back next year.
Daniels, on the other hand, preferred throwing to Pickens and Burton in the 2nd half of the season, Jackson and Cook had some success, but nothing like Pickens and Burton.
Those duos' numbers are virtually flip-flopped from the first half of 2020 to the 2nd half of 2020. I don't think Pickens success or failure, had anything to do with QB style, but, QB preference. All 4 of those guys can get separation or leverage and above all catch the ball.
Bennett threw a several nice passes to Pickens, when he played in the post-season. And Pickens made some eye-raising catches when he did. He's going to do what Hines Ward did for Pittsburgh. If he can stay healthy, he'll be the talk of the league next year.
The Steelers got a steal and so did Philly with N. Dean. I'm scratching my head as to why Belichick didn't get one of those 2 guys...any Dawg. He typically goes for UGA players, similar to the Packers.
And, K. Jackson will be the talk of the SEC next year...mark my words.
