Georgia football has yet to add anyone via the transfer portal this offseason. It's not hard to figure out why that is the case for Georgia.

Culture of “I WANT To Be Here and grow and get better!!!” Got to have it and get rid of the grass is greener illusion.

Kirby, I do not believe is an easy coach to please. He is known league-wide as being fair but a taskmaster..grit and grind type...you measure up to the job, the job does not measure to your standard as a player. The bar is high..the effort exhausting. That is why many transfer....in my opinion. NIL will make pansies of many players out for the buck....harsh, yes. Don't come to UGA looking to score a pay day as your motivation....Kirby.

Even though the NCAA raised the limit on how many players a team can sign in a year, the total limit for scholarships is still 85. The last count I saw, it looked like UGA was up against the limit or slightly over. I think the lack of available scholarships is another factor in preventing additions from the transfer portal. Also it is likely that there aren't any players available that the staff believes are better than the players already on the roster.

Kirby has the right mindset in building the culture he envision. Bring kids to the program that wants to be there. The kids that want to play for the G. Why get a player out of the program when you recruit all year round to convince a kid that the Georgia program is for them but you bring in some transfers. I understand needs, but if you are a great coach... You develop the players in your program to play at your standards. Play football the Georgia way.
