I disagree that McClendon for Lanning is an even swap with respect to insider scoop. To whit, Georgia's preparation tactics and game time approach (on both sides of the ball) will change very little with Lanning's departure and McClendon's arrival, therefore should be well-understood by the Ducks. Conversely, Oregon's preparation tactics and game time approach for a brand new head coach and staff is virtually unknown, and therefore far more of a mystery to Georgia. Despite this disparity, I still like our chances. Go Dawgs!

In regard to Arian Smith's high ankle sprain injury, this is often now treated with a syndesmotic "tightrope" procedure which immediately stabilizes the tibial and fibular fractures while the disrupeted ligaments heal. You may recall how quickly Tua Tagoviloa came back after surgery for a high ankle sprain while at Alabama. Though the soft tissues and bones will not have healed yet, the bones are so secure that players can often get back to playing as soon as 3-4 weeks after injury. I hope that means Arian may not miss more than the first two games.
