    @Brandon Adams:

    Florida's victory over a meh Utah team is no big deal but Georgia's victory over a great Oregon team is earth-shaking! Funny but the 2021 results:

    Utah 38 Oregon 7

    Meh. Regular season. The Pac-12 title game is what really counts.

    Utah 38 Oregon 10

    Utah was ranked higher than Oregon to enter the season for a reason.

    No, it's Alabama's year, until the Dawgs prove otherwise.

    Put another way, Georgia and Alabama were almost equal last year. Then the Dawgs lost a lot more talent to the NFL.

    Georgia is actually in a real rebuild on defense. Alabama returned a lot more talent - they should stay No.1 until Georgia knocks them out in the SECCG. Period!

    @SmartsTheMan

    I cannot agree.

    First off, I am an old-fashioned guy who still has a "the defending champs are #1 until they lose" mindset. Granted that is a holdover from the old system before the playoff and even the BCS but hey, 49-3 against #11.

    Second, Alabama still has a lot to prove. They don't have the #1 draft pick talent at WR, just some guys "with potential." They haven't demonstrated the dominant rushing game that they had in 2015, 2009-2012 or even 2017, and yes some of that is the OL. Third, while I am a huge fan of Alabama's LBs and secondary - probably the best "back seven" in the nation (essentially calling Will Anderson a DE) - UGA has a better DL.

    Third, Clemson is still out there. They may actually be the team with the best defense in the NCAA. Tonight we will get the first indication of whether their nightmarish 2021 on offense is going to carry over. Clemson may not be better than both UGA and Alabama, but I am thinking that they may be better than one or the other if either of their 5 star QBs pan out.

    So, Utah wasn't going to come to Florida to beat the Gators? Excuse me, but where did Georgia play Oregon again? In Salt Lake City? Or was it Chicago?

    Also, evidence that Jermaine Burton is better than Ladd McConkey? Well you asked.

    2021 stats: Burton 497 receiving yards in 12 games. McConkey 447 yards in 15 games. And oh yeah, McConkey only had 1 receiving TD Saturday.

    Let the season unfold. Then we will know. Until then, it's just rat poison.

    Check yours stats goob.....against much stronger competition McConkey was much better than Burton....thadec, Burton realized the competition he faced and knew he couldn't transcend and prevail so he opted out for greener pastures. We will see if his actions produce the results he desires....high pick in NFL draft.

    Didn't the two of them have the same number of receiving TDs in 2021? McConkey also had a rush TD last year and 2 totes TDs Saturday. Math is hard. Plus, he stayed. Good luck to Burton and all, but...
