SEC Power Rankings: The scoreboard doesn’t lie at Georgia, Tennessee rising for Tide
ATHENS — The scoreboard doesn’t lie, and neither did Kirby Smart after a dominant fourth quarter led to a 42-10 Georgia win over Auburn.

Never seen a Top 25 so fluid, particularly at the top. If you're undefeated now that doesn't matter. It's all style points in today's what have you done for me lately crowd. I'm still searching for ThE OhIO sT's quality win against a decent opponent. Please send me a text alert win the Buckeyes actually play someone.
We must improve to have a chance at an SEC Championship. That's the bottom line. TN is legit and should be our biggest obstacle to the SEC East crown.
Rankings at the top is always about style points. I am glad Coach Smart see the truth behind his team wins. Execution is more about the small attention to detail. Right now that should be the focus, especially in the trenches. Stetson spread the ball around, but in certain situations he get to focused in on Bowers. That is a detail that the OC needs to express to Stetson.
The really bad thing is we need to improve a huge amount; we're not executing very well.
Our upside? We are capable of much better execution; we have the talent and athleticism; our young players are far from their ceiling.
Kirby & Company have their work cut out for them. It also appears that some of the team leaders - particularly Stetson Bennett & Jamon Dumas-Johnson - know exactly what needs to be done.
We have a significant amount of time to get it together before Tennessee. Florida doesn't look like an easy team to beat either.
At this point in the season we don't know much about how strong all the various teams will end up looking relative to one another by season's end. Alabama looked lucky to survive a not great aTm. Tennessee looks like the Beast of the East at the moment, but look at their schedule.
We don't know very much about Tennessee just yet because we don't know for sure very much about Tennessee's opponents.
We'll know more next weekend when they get to play Alabama.
As we all know, Georgia is capable of huge improvement (sometimes) as the season goes on. Kirby's not settling for what he's seen so far being the peak of his team's capacity. Probably the Alabama coach and the Tennessee coach want more from their players, too, which makes everything incredibly interesting and far from static.
We've got a hellacious amount to improve upon.
Go, Dawgs!
I am happy to see “The” OSU at number 1 in a poll… gotta give those yankee football fans some hope—even if it turns out just like last year! 😬
Not that long ago, a rebuilding year meant 6, 7, or 8 wins and a bowl game in Nashville or worse.
It’s a pleasure watching these young Dawgs growing into champions! Kudos to Kirby and the staff for recognizing the work that needs to be done over the course of the next seven weeks for this team to develop into being championship worthy. They are not there yet but I have complete confidence they will be!
The time to enjoy the national championship season was the off season. New season, same trepidation. If you are a(n objective and informed)) fan of the team you can see the warts of the team. CKS just pointed out a few.
Granted UGA was missing a number of key players yesterday. But that's football. Does AL struggle with BYoung playing vs aTm? His replacement had 2 fumbles and an INT. We saw what happened in COMO when UGA turned the ball over.
The annual UGA/AL showdown looks inevitable. With the exception of TE (though Latu is good), AL's skill players look better than UGA's across the board. JGibbs has had more long runs in 2 games than UGA has had in 2 seasons? AL's 3rd wr would be UGA's #1 wr this season? Both OL's are struggling. AL's D is higher ranked than UGA's.
When will BYoung be able to throw again? The AL/TN game this week will be interesting.
Another lesson in recruiting the state of GA harder. WAnderson, BJ Ojulari , TBigsby and JGibbs could've all been big contributors to this team.
