Since this isn't GatorNation, here's how the first sentence should read...
"Anthony Richardson has put behind what - FOR HIM - are arguably the worst 2 1/2 minutes in the history of the Georgia-Florida football rivalry.
Since this is DawgNation, those were some of the most glorious 2 1/2 minutes of last season!
@MikeGriffith I enjoyed this article that's focused solely on this week's opponent, there's no shortage of reading material dedicated to the UGA-Tenn. matchup next week. I'm sure AR has improved in his playing ability from last year, that is to be expected. Athletes in this age-range (19-22) can, and often do, improve dramatically from one year to the next as they get stronger, faster, and more experienced. However, through 7 games this season he has demonstrated a lack of accuracy that has lead to more interceptions (7) than touchdowns (6), and a low completion percentage (57%). If the Dawgs start fast (as CKS has expressed) and get out ahead with a solid early lead, he will struggle trying to use the passing game to close the gap. He is very likely to throw the ball to a red helmet when he gets under pressure. He hasn't faced a defense this solid and this disciplined in the 2022 season, and probably since this matchup last year.
GO DAWGS!
Richardson is their one chance at making this a game. Everything feeds off of him. Keep him in the pocket or only getting short gains and we'll be OK.
This game will be the litmus test for AR15 and how much he has developed. Is he ready to take the next step? Is he a big time CFB QB ready to move on to the NFL or an inexperienced guy with 8(?) CFB starts who needs another year at the CFB level to become an accomplish QB?
FU has some very talented players. They can make this a close and interesting game for 4Q's before UGA's superior talent and coaching put this game away.
@GoodOlDawg Thanks! I appreciate your kind words, lots of copy and lots of travel and lots of late nights this week, but it's very much worth it knowing how many folks read and care about Georgia football. It's a really cool beat to cover with great fans!
Let's see...Richardson, et al, have lost three games, albeit most were close ones. My read is, you have to have a defense to compliment an offense. UGA has a burgeoning offense now as well as a very good defense. The harmony here wins games. This is why Florida loses. If Richardson and the offense cannot overcome the opposing defense, Florida's defense simply cannot hold up its end. Sounds almost didactic, I know, but proves to be true most of the time. UGA should win this one going away. The two teams are on different performance levels.
And just think he ( Richardson) is gonna do Even Worse in This game !! Then sit around and cry big ole Mud Lizard tears with his Buddy Cox !! 😀 Goooo Dawgs !!! GATA !!!
