It would be great to see Coach Monken win this award, I think the Dawgs offensive unit has had an incredible regular season and ready for some post season success. But how does Coach Schumann not get nominated as well? His defensive unit has maintained very impressive stats, top 5 rankings in several categories, and shut down what was, at the time, the number one offense in the country. He lost 5 first rounders to the NFL draft from last years team along with the Butkus Award Winner, but UGA continues to field the most feared defense in the country. Maybe being “Co-Defensive Coordinator makes him ineligible, I’m not sure. GO DAWGS!

He should win it period. I hate it, because someone will want to take him as a head coach. However, his best position is OC. He is gifted beyond measure in that roll. UGA should pay him double what he makes now. Keep him in that chair inventing new ways to score.

He may not want to be a head coach. Being a successful HC means recruiting and I'm not sure Monken wants to do all of that.

Arkansas isn't what it was last season, and when Jefferson and others leave, who knows what next season will hold.

I bring that up because it's a lot of stress for anyone, but especially someone who isn't as young as Kirby.

I think it's taking a toll on Saban, who is 71.

We've come a long way from who was that guy? Searles?

Even as good as Monken is(certainly the best we've had) there are still some head scratchers every now and then. I don't know if that's on Kirby or Monken, I wish he would say. For example the multiple runs up the middle in the last 2 games that got stuffed? No kick outs to Brock or Darnell or even Ladd as we have seen in the past? Is Kirby telling Monken this is what we're doing or just solely Monken?

Other than those goal line follies I'm very pleased with CTM. I hope he wins!

Monkin should have won the award last year.

Muschamp/Schumann, should have been nominated this year.

But, it's UGA, and those "awards" go to Yankee teams or BAMA. Lol

It'd be a darned shame, if Bennett went his entire career without winning the Burlesworth Award.

Or, Bowers goes his entire career without winning the Mackey Award.

Can you imagine if Herschel Walker, hadn't won the Heisman? If he had been injured in his 3rd year, that could have happened. He deserved it, in his Freshman year.
