No comments after the story about Stets having what the other Heisman finalists want is a crock, so excuse me for being off topic:

If Caleb Williams is the best player in college football, there’s a serious talent deficiency at the top of the game!

Now, Mike has made my day! Florida’s desire to be Georgia is obvious! No matter who they bring in as coach and regardless of how much more money they spend, every year they fall further behind. ‘23 will be no different!

Florida is a total mess. With all the people that Napier dismissed and the people who entered the portal - there is a huge degree of overlap in those - plus the Gators were already nowhere near 85 due to Mullen's neglect, how many scholarship players do they even have? Even worse: recruiting this year isn't going great. They had pretty good momentum for awhile, but ending the season losing 3 of the last 4 as well as deciding to cut loose a rather good QB prospect for the crime of recording himself listening to rap music - yes stuff like this does hurt because these players have teammates and friends so the Gators can forget about recruiting anyone else from the Jacksonville area after this because Stokes was from a suburb - they aren't going to finish in the top 10. They also aren't going to sign the 30-35 kids they need.

Next season for Florida is going to be bad too. The Gator fans ran off Anthony Richardson because they wanted Billy Napier to play Jalen Kitna ... and now Kitna is off the team too. So now they are going to have to burn a kid's redshirt just to get through the bowl game - which they should probably decline due to their lack of players - and get a QB from the portal.

It is curious how patient the folks in Gainesville will or should be with Napier. This season was a disaster - lost to Kentucky, South Carolina, FSU and Vanderbilt - and 2023 might even be worse. 2024 could be better, but that isn't saying much, as "better" could be 7-8 wins.

$$ well spent, a great football program brings more income to the over all school and the local community.
