Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Arik Gilbert thanks Georgia football program for its support as he enters transfer portal
Earlier this week, it was reported that Georgia tight end Arik Gilbert would be entering the transfer portal. Gilbert confirmed that news in an Instagram post.

The good ole transfer portal…..
Young man’s gotta do what he thinks is best for his life. I wish him well and hold no malice against him. I don’t think he damaged UGA in any way. If he did the damages were so minute their not even worth discussing imho. But by Kirby & UGA doing all they could to support Arik, that Clearly shows parents and recruits that if they come to UGA they Will be taken care of as best as possible for any Physical or Mental health issues that the fine folks at UGA can possibly render. So if my son were a recruit that would be All The More reason I’d want him to be a Dawg.
Best of luck to you, Arik. You have a lot of us in the Dawg Nation pulling for you.
Wish you the best, but Buh Bye!
Like many, I've been a bit of a skeptic on the drama around Arik, but have respected what several have observed around CKS being focused on the person as much as the player. There's no doubt this has been a distraction, but I'll be the first to give props to Arik for at least demonstrating gratitude and grace in his departure (what a contrast with our former WR now at 'Bama!).
Nice to close this chapter with a note consistent with the spirit of the season.
Merry Christmas, Dawgnation!
Mr. Gilbert, I am hoping that you will find somewhere that you can move towards achieving your potential, not only in football , but more importantly, in life. Your talents should lead you to success in football, but if that doesn't happen, I wish for you to have success in life. Playing football is something that will pass eventually. My hope is that you can do that for as long as possible, but more than that, I wish you success at whatever comes after playing football.
Arik, "turn the page" as you say and "Hit the road Jack!".
I didn't down vote your comments, but I think your comments are obnoxious, beyond the pale, unseemly, and insulting to him, and to the team and coaches who supported him.
Go, Dawgs!
And he misspelled “scholarship “, right Connor!? And no downvote here, either…..Don’t believe in them!
Go Dawgs!
He will find his way! Prayers are following that young man!
Go Dawgs!
I have to say that I think it would be best for him to remain at Georgia. It’s obvious Kirby was trying to help him in life, not just football- to walk away from that is a mistake. I hope I’m wrong but not everyone will treat him like that and it could result in a regression of whatever issues he’s had
