Those DB's better be ready. Need something off the edge to get to the qb or this will be bad

" It’s just culture,” Smart said bluntly on why the defense continues to excel. “That’s not going to change. What we do is not going to change. It doesn’t matter if one coach leaves or another coach leaves. That doesn’t impact our defense. We rep a lot of players at practice. We have a system set up to get our twos and threes ready.

“So the next cast of defensive players is getting ready right now just like they were last year. I think, if you’ve got a good formula for getting guys ready, it prevents large gaps in seasons.”

Kirby learned this from his time at Bama. Saban loses assistant coaches almost every season. But they rarely skip a beat, because the system is already in place. The work is already being done. This culture and process is key to keeping the Dawgs in the hunt every year.

We know the QB and two receivers are studs, requiring max effort from Ringo and Lassiter, but what about other pass catching threats? Do they have TEs who can pull away our safeties, or RBs who can be effective on swing routes or dump offs occupying our LBs?

The key is to not allow Stroud to have time to be the outstanding pass happy QB he is. Our D-Line must confuse the Ohio St offense....pressure, pressure, pressure all the while taking away their attempts at maintaining a rushing attack. A one dimensional Ohio St will fold......but of course they know exactly what we will be doing so it comes down to who will win the trenches.

@MontanaDawg - I disagree. Saban wasn't jack squat until Kirby joined his staff. Check Saban's success record BEFORE Kirby. Look at what Kirby has done, away from Saban. He is the only former staffer to have this kind of success. It is not even close. The more I think about it, the more I believe that KIRBY is the reason for Saban's defensive success.

This game cannot get here quick enough! The dawgs playing in their own backyard, the Georgia fans screaming their hearts out - this is going to be off the chain! Kirby and crew have had a month to prepare for tOSU and they will not disappoint! Look what they did against the Tenn offense with a lot less time to prepare! Shut them down! Time for history to repeat itself! Dawgs by at least 14! Let's do this! GO DAWGS!

I will be GLAD, SO GLAD for 2023 season. For one reason: That we will never again have to read about how many players were taken in the draft or left in the portal, as opposed to reading it in every fifth paragraph. For the writers it has become like paper stuffing in the Amazon box, they just cram it in to add words!
