How injured Nolan Smith continues to help Georgia football win: ‘He’s been a huge help to everyone’
ATLANTA — Hours after his Georgia playing career had come to a halt, Nolan Smith was happy.

Talent, enthusiasm, integrity, character, intelligence; Nolan Smith has it all and it will serve him well as he moves on to the next level. He is the prototype for what UGA is looking for in their next on-the-field leader. While the stat lines are complete for him, he is still adding tremendous value to the most effective defense in college football. You may not be able to measure the kind of value being added, but I'm glad he's bringing it for the playoffs. With his commitment to coaching-up and encouraging his fellow Dawgs, one thing that hasn't changed is this- OSU still has a Nolan Smith problem. If UGA can continue to be the kind of program that attracts people like him, they will quickly run out of space in the trophy room.
GO DAWGS!
@GoodOlDawg Excellent Comments !! Gotta Love Nolan Smith, he is the very essence of a DGD !! He is one of the best examples of this Dawgs team, this Dawgs program and that is being Unselfish. Always putting Team first. And Kirby and staff just keep recruiting to that character ethic. That’s one of the principal reasons this program will continue to be successful at the highest levels. Go Dawgs !! Beat them Weird Walnuts !!
Could definitely see him coming back in the future and being a great defensive coach!
Definitely. If the NFL, for some reason, doesn't work out. He'll definitely be a coach somewhere. Has a great attitude. Definitely one needed to become a coach.
Already loved the guy from the day he committed all the way through. He has been less heralded than he deserved and i believe i saw a stat that the vast majority of explosive plays against UGA has come in the games since his injury. While he may not get sacks all the time, it seems he was consistently getting play-changing pressure and that is just as good. A DGD that will be missed - just glad he is such a high-character guy to hang around and help lead during this pivotal time. Go DAWGS
