His Duncanville team is very very good. It'll be a coup to pull him out of state or away from LSU.

Gotta love anyone that uses the term “shoot” as they describe things. Reminds me of growing up - best of luck young man and hopefully we see you in red and black. Go DAWGS

Sounds like GA did a great job of showing Simmons what they have to offer.

Seems like he wants to leave the state of Texas (guessing) if so, looks like it may be between Georgia and LSU.

He would likely start sooner at another school but might not get developed as well. I hope he chooses the Dawgs!

Colin, just keep in mind.....Celebrate with the DAWGS or cry with the Tigers.....either way Duncanville is just a 2 hour flight from each.

IMO...the word "starter", as it applies to scholarship players at UGA, is a relatively meaningless word.

Alexander, Williams, Stark and J. Walker were all Freshmen Defenders. All had significant playing time and contributed heavily to an undefeated season for the Dawgs.

If you are referring to the first guy to line up, as "the starter", I get it. But, UGA platoons so much along the front 7, that it does a disservice to the 20 or so guys that contribute throughout the game. They are all "starters"...and "backups".

Smart is forcing people to redefine terms. They've become a much more specialized and compartmentalized program. Kinda like professional baseball. You don't see many "complete games" from "starting pitchers" anymore. No more "iron man"...and, no more Roger Clemons.

That's how you attract/persuade, players like Simmons, to come to Athens and strap up. There really are no "starters"...only contributors. It can change from week to week, depending on practice performance.

He will see at least as much playing time at UGA next year, as Alexander and Williams had last year. I think he'll be a heavy contributor by the 5th game.

UGA will have an all-star defense, next year...and the next. Hope to see this kid there. He sounds like he's got his wits about him and very respectful. He appears to be ready to play, right now. Lol
