Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

FYI, hiked to Rocky Top a couple years ago and GPS showed it to be on the North Carolina side of the TN/NC state line. GPS could’ve been off but would be about right for TN, claiming something that it isn’t
Rocky Top - Wikipedia
Interesting info.
🎶 Everyone's related on rocky top 🎶 rocky top tenersee 🎶
A Tennessee father's advise to his son: "Don't marry a virgin; if she ain't good enough for her own family she ain't good enough for ours."
This is 100% gold!
I love Gatlinburg, but Tennessee has NOTHING on the NC mountains and the Blue Ridge Parkway.
I'm sure Tennessee is butthurt that they got left out on the BRP. Of course, Tennessee got a lot of other benefits from the Great Depression.
Just like them to complain and claim something that isn't theirs.
I like the area up around Greenville going East to the French Broad River. I don't know if someone could come up with a catchy tune about that area though.
I love going up to Greenville in the fall, getting off of 85 and taking highways up to the mountains!
What is really ironic is that in the mid ‘70’s, we hadn’t played Tennerssee for a good while, so the fact that they were beginning to make this song their own, wasn’t really known at UGA. That song was one of THE most played song on the juke box in every bar in Athens!
It was a great rowdy, drinking song and we could not get enough of it…..kinda like “You don’t have to call me darlin’, Darlin’ “ by David Allan Coe!!
Now the song has been bastardized by Vol fans and is retched!!
Go Dawgs! Hate on Vols!
Take 400 up through Dawsonville and Dahlonega to go to Asheville instead and you cna avoid that whole crappy state with its horrible roads and garbage towns.
Car overheated going up Signal Mountain so I know what you mean and totally agree with you about the crappy roads!!
Yeah, I know but 85 is usually faster to get up to the mountains...especially the higher elevations.
We came back that way a couple years ago and it took considerably longer. Very scenic though!
Plus, my wife is from SoCar so I can't say a whole lot of bad about it...but the roads are awful!
I am just learning my way through the parkway and love it particularly around Linville Falls and Grandfather Mt. That said, the Great Smoky Mountain National Park has the best day long hikes and mountain climbs to offer in the east. Mt LeConte, Mt Cammerrer, Charlie’s Bunion, and Rocky Top have unspoiled spectacular views that I always look forward to. Thankfully, the park is maintained by the national park service and not the state of TN.😅
I love Grandfather Mountain and Linville Gorge / Canyon area. I shouldn't say Tennessee has nothing on NC, it's just that we love that part of NC!
We're not much for hiking (I would, but the wife can't), but would love to go to Clingman's Dome...it's not a far drive from Mount Mitchell.
