Perfect... another old-timer to fit with Saban's grumpy personality and tiring brand. Those guys could have grandchildren the age of some players. I much prefer our seasoned and accomplished but comparatively younger staff with whom players can more easily identify. And we get Schumann at least another year. Go Dawgs!

Has the old dog learned any new tricks....apparently not given Miami's record. He'll be easy to game plan for as he's been around for so long.

On offense, Rees is above average but not great. Decent offensive mind. Not a good evaluator of QB talent (see ND QB room). Not much better with WR talent. He was important this past year as continuity for Freeman's first year as ND HC. But if they didn't have Meyer at TE ... Many folks at ND are shedding no tears at his departure.

I really like both the coordinator hires for Bama.

Now, if we can keep Monken, I'll like them even better.

As a UGA fan, I like both AL hires, too: Rees had the 60th ranked offense at ND and Steele had the 65th ranked defense at Miami. I heard the phrase: "a retread and a meathead."

I literally cried when Saban did not hire Todd Grantham. 😪
