Georgia teammates share honest thoughts on Bear Alexander, what comes next for defensive line
ATHENS — Zion Logue did not want to answer the question. The Georgia defensive tackle made it clear he did not want to talk about Bear Alexander, instead focusing on the defensive linemen still with Georgia.

You want to transfer after 3 years - ok - but I will never support someone who does it sooner absent a special extenuating circumstance. Especially not someone who instead of saying “thank you” and “I’ve decided to enter my name in the transfer portal”, stated: “I’m decommitting from Georgia and reopening my recruitment” …(a/k/a I’ll commit to whoever wants to pay me the most). That’s selfish and disgraceful to the “G” and the guy who wore #99 before you. Don’t care how good you are or will be - if this is how you feel then we are better off without you. It takes a TEAM not an individual (or several for that matter) to be successful.
Players and coaches may have to be politically correct, but I don’t.
Wherever the cub lands I just hope he posts where he ENROLLED or which team he JOINED ,since he clearly doesn’t know what COMMITMENT means.
Zion interviews very well. I hope his leadership skills allow him to get those young pups ready for the big games.
Yeah, reading between the lines in zions Interview make it sound like he was leaving for selfish reasons. There’s no room for selfishness on a championship team regardless of sport being played.
I wish him well, but this defection stings. He may do well elsewhere, but he was set up to be great here and have a shot at history.
Yeah this feels like a big payday elsewhere. I still feel like Texas is the team to beat. Probably gonna have some Twitter statement about going back home if he does. And no offense to students who do that, but how much of that is 100% true? If he transfers to a school with not so deep pockets, I can see it. But with NIL ruling college football, and no real limit on how much money can be given, this is the world they created. Kirby said it best, "greener" pastures. And like it's been commented before. Shows how selfish he truly is, announcing that right before the game. He could've waited a couple hours and then put his name in.
Riley and Sark are probably the best tamperers of the NIL era to date.
If you can't develop DT's as well as Georgia (nobody does) maybe the next best thing is to buy a player that has already been developed by the best in the business. I wish the very best for Alexander, but I think this is a decision that he will regret when his draft day arrives.
Glad he is gone and I do not wish him well. He **** the air out of Georgia's Spring game and grabbed all the attention.
The Dawgs will be just fine without him.
I'm no expert, but I doubt playing time is his concern.
What's his name is no longer a Bulldog. Never mention his name again Connor.
It sounds very obvious that a cancer had started to grow which could have been disastrous for the program. Considering previous comments by Coach challenging guys to step up & this particular player being unhappy with his role, that there was likely some internal persuasion to move along. Just like the TO before the fake punt against the Ohio State, Coach is always a step ahead. We are very fortunate to have Kirby Smart as our Coach!!! The best in the game!! GO DAWGS!!!
Coach says it a lot. Some players accept coaching very well. Which leads me to believe that some do not. Mimms was there last year and even visited FSU. Then came back. I don’t see him returning. the big baby will be better than the bear!
Jordan Hall sure did look good yesterday. Put on some pressure and deflected two passes. Bear was good but Hall has more promise.
I wasn't watching Hall that closely but it is ok to have more than 1 superstar on the DL. I was pretty excited to have both Bear and Hall together for 2 years. Oh well, I am hoping one of the other guys we haven't heard much from really makes a leap this year. Maybe Jefferson or Christian. I also would like to see Stack or Logue become that superstar but you would think by now we would have seen it and there is a reason no one outside of the program is talking about them? Not sure but their time is now or never. Let's hope it is now.
I like how you think.
His timing was horrible. His motives, unclear, but likely green. Also, short sighted. The best opportunities come to those best developed, fully tested by high level competition both in practice and in games, and of high character and good judgment.
One can almost hear a little bird whispering. The bird might be saying Kirby ran him off. We don't know what Kirby knows. In any case, Kirby & Company will adapt. They will develop the talent smart enough to stick around and do the work.
Go, Dawgs!
