UGA scores 12 runs Saturday, and still loses. Sounds like the pitching, and defense didn't show up. Only so much a batter can do, and that's completely irrelevant when pitching, and defense can't back you up.. The talent is there, the coaching isn't.
I feel for this ball club but I don't feel bad for the head coach... It's time for new leadership at the helm of an underperforming baseball program... The state is loaded with talent, we have the money, a new and expanded baseball facility has been approved and moving forward ...it's time for new leadership at the helm of this good but not excellent baseball program.
Time for new leadership. Hopefully the AD will target good to great candidates to replace him, not hire within or an assistant from some good team.
Coach Strickland needs to retire. I admit, ace pitcher and two catchers are out, but Strickland cannot motivate or strategize this team with any sense of consistency. He beats good teams and then loses to lesser ones. Listen to his excuses....same. UGA has the rep for good players....it is the coaching they lack. They score 12 runs and lose? No defense..awful pitching. LSU is next... #2 SEC. Little chance UGA makes it post season NCAA again. Just my opinion.
