You gotta believe at least part of the unwillingness to name a quarterback at this point is to ensure that both quarterbacks stick around for the 2023 season. Name one now, and you you have the possibility of the other one transferring.

I think that is part of it. I heard Griff was going to finish his degree at end of summer. I don't know if that is true.

Unfortunately for Griff, who I really like btw, he is probably the odd man out. Now there is a scenario where Beck gets injured and Griff takes over or Beck goes pro and Griff starts next year. In the latter scenario Gunner would look to be the odd man out next year or 2 years from now with the 2 qbs coming in and the pressure to start Raiola.

We have too many quality qbs. I think I heard Griff goes to Auburn or Georgia Southern at end of year if he doesn't win the job. For Carson this is it. He either starts or his football days are effectively over. I like his odds with the 'Burn the Bridges' ultimatem he is facing. Griff has options.

The bigger issue to me is who is better for the team? Is Beck's lack of running a liability? Is Griff's windup to throw the ball a liability? Who has better team leadership and chemistry?

It will be interesting to watch but I like Beck's chances.
