"But the main goal is getting to the NFL. That’s where the long-term money comes at."  = UGA. Nobody develops players (especially on defense) as well as Kirby's Georgia.

"But the main goal is getting to the NFL. That’s where the long-term money comes at.".....Very astute KJ, and you are absolutely correct....NFL is not only where the REAL money is but it's your future....If the NFL is indeed your goal there is no other school/program in America that can match the record Georgia has produced. Your HS accolades have gained you interest from everybody BUT they will not get you to the NFL! You've got much to learn, skills to develop and growth to demonstrate to NFL scouts/coaches/management. The DAWGS provide everything you need provided you are willing to make the commitment and put in the work necessary.....If this is the case we all look forward to your decision! GOOOOO DAWGS, SICEM!

Skip the drama, do yourself and the Georgia faithful a favor, commit to the red & black, and let's get to work toward that NFL aspiration. Go Dawgs!

My only what if is that he says it’s going to be a surprise. Thus what if it isn’t one of his top schools, but maybe join coach prime - the Buffs will be in the Big 12 next year.

Coach Prime. Really? A couple things about Prime. One is the guy is fighting to keep his foot and leg. He has blood clots up the yazoo and already had 2 toes removed. His foot is next. Not saying that is his fault it is not but he is going to be distracted trying to keep whatever is attacking his body from putting him in a wheelchair.

Secondly, his team this year will be a dumpster fire. Prime is trying something that really is not going to work and he will be fired in 2 or 3 years. You cannot be cool when you treat that many people badly.

So going to play for Prime would be a catastrophic mistake. Catastrophic.

His medical conditions not withstanding. CU was an example of a “SURPRISE”. Why would KJ use that phrase? Cause he’s 17?? Maybe its USC. And then again maybe there is no surprise and he chooses one of his top 3 choices?

but just for a second, step out of the Dawg box. If he were to go somewhere other than his top three. Where?

Look, it is his life and he can do what he wants. I personally do not follow players who go elsewhere unless there is a connection somehow and reason to do so. Kind of like that cranky guy says on Shark Tank, "You're Dead To Me"

I root for The Dawgs! When Papoe went to Auburn I didn't root for or against him. I just really didn't care.

I think I represent most fans on this point.

If he goes somewhere else it will be FSU or OSU. Who cares though?

I had a coach come up to me and tell me "That is Sammy Brown over there, he is such and such"

I'm like that's great coach, good for him. We had a discussion about his talent, I saw him do something pretty amazing not going to talk about here. However, when he chose Clemson I lost all interest.

I am going to focus on the great kids who choose Georgia and root for them to be the biggest and most sucessful human beings and football players.

Based on this article, the more we hear KJ talk and the longer the uncertainty goes on, the less likely it is seems that he will be coming to UGA. There is a lot of talk coming from an unproven (SEC level) HS player. Not sure this addition is a plus to the locker room. Not discussing your future college choice with your parents is a red flag. I went back and scanned the article to see if he talked about himself in the 3rd person.

He is a talent that could do well at UGA if he works extremely hard. Not sure what it is about the elite players form the metro Atlanta area but all seem to want to go straight from HS to the NFL. Something tells me that college will an eye opening and maturing experience for KJ.

Saw Sammy Brown mentioned below. Good player. High ceiling. Will play early. His mom is happy because he is playing for Saint Dabo and not the evil empire. But he is not likely to win a NC or be developed to the level he would attain at UGA. Iron sharpens iron. Clemson just doesn't have the overall depth that UGA has to push a player or compete against. Clemson fans were ecstatic to land Brown and claim he will be a difference maker from day 1. He has to be. They don't have the kind of depth UGA has. The kind of depth you need to win a NC in '23. When the '23 season starts, UGA will have 8(!) 4* or 5* ILB's on the roster if you count the 3 freshmen.

Getting on the field early, to show their stuff and build their brand, is what seduces many of these young players. In reality, the value is built by the development that occurs in the weight room, in the film room and , mostly, by competing daily at practice against the highest level of competition you will face all year. Sammy Brown decided to play soft ball CFB and missed the boat. It will be interesting to see if KJ recognizes what path prepares him the best to attain his NFL goal.

I couldn't agree more on pretty much every point. I really liked Sammy and he is not just a great talent but a great person. However, since he chose Clemson he is dead to me. In my humble opinion it is his loss unless he plans on retiring in South Carolina.

There is something to be said when a Georgia boy picks the flagship university. He is set for life if he plays here. This should never be overlooked. I know the NFL money (if they make it) they can choose to live anywhere but with family and friends who live here it is a BIG FRIGG ' N DEAL to play for UGA.

A lot of these metro kids don't seem to get it but like I said it is their loss.

Think you're reading far too much into it. Kids speaking off the cuff to reporters means next to nothing. His inner circle is very involved and will absolutely contribute to the decision. As well, Kirby has made this guy a priority for years. That should be good enough for any of us.

I agree and I'll take your point a step further. In his home state, only knowledgeable CFB fans know Trevor Lawrence is from GA. Yet it took 2 elections and a lot of mudslinging to keep Hershel Walker out of the US Senate.

I would think these potential recruits would have recognized that at UGA you work your way into a rotation and gain experience gradually unless you have proven your indispensable worth during practice....ie: Malaki Starks. In so doing you lessen the potential that you will sustain an injury, you gain experience/coaching and become much better with the skills you bring. Noting is sadder that a highly talented player that starts as a Freshman only to be injured and Red Shirt/sit out a season.

As for KJ, the less you say my man, the greater the surprise......

The fact that he thinks of Coach Smart as more of a friend than coach is a little disconcerting. If he ends up at UGA, the first time Kirby blowtorches him, he’s not gonna know what hit him.

No one player is more important than the TEAM.

My advice to KJ, Get on this train or try to stop it. We want you, hop on board dude. You can be part of the greatest dynasty in college football history and a hero for the rest of your life in the state where your friends and family live.

Seeing on the other boards he is going to Auburn. I thought he was an FSU surprise but Freeze is up to his old tricks apparently. He appears to be gone...
